Data Skills Credits Case Study - #DataWorker

Hear from Vicki, a recipient of Data Skills Credits, who undertook Google Analytics - the Complete Guide from the Institute of Data and Marketing.

Before applying for Data Skills Credits, Vicki had basic data skills and experience of using dashboards such as Microsoft Power BI. Vicki was made aware of Data Skills Credits by her self-employment coach and said “the application process was straightforward, simple and easy to follow and I had prompt responses from the team regarding any queries”.

Vicki was interested in taking part in the programme as she “really enjoys data analysis and was eager to learn more about operating systems that can help understand and refine business performance”.

Vicki chose the Google Analytics course as she was looking to ensure the online presence of her small business was operating at its most efficient and how to interpret the data to potentially improve performance. She said “the course delivered exactly what I was hoping for - clear, practical understanding of how to use Google Analytics to monitor performance and identify areas for development”.

Vicki has implemented the skills she gained on the course as she develops a small business.

Following the course I feel really energised, excited and motivated by the new data skills I have acquired and found that after completing each day of the  Google Analytics course I felt very happy and confident in my choice. I really enjoy data and data analysis and having had the opportunity to further my skills/ knowledge has only reinforced that!

I think data skills are important in the world of work because they contribute to being able to make more informed decisions on performance within business. Decisions that can improve not only digital productivity, but also in my experience, team/ culture behaviour/ change.

If you are self-employed or a data worker looking to upskill in data why not apply for Data Skills Credits or look at the different learning pathways available.
