What we want to achieve
Our core objective is to benefit working adults who want to upskill themselves in data to address the demands of the changing world of work. We want to ensure the region has the workforce skills to underpin a strong digital economy, drive improved economic performance and inclusion across the region and to influence the acceleration to Net Zero through digital skills to help with carbon management.
We want to partner with training and education providers who can offer data upskilling short courses to learners who belong to learner in our target groups, which includes: women, people with a disability, people from ethnic minority backgrounds, and neurodivergent individuals.
Data Skills Framework
Data Skills Credits are designed to help learners to develop data citizen, data worker and data professional skills. Through our work and research with employers in the city regions, we have created a Data Skills Framework, which outlines four key skill areas – technical, ethical, leadership, and strategic – mapped to different experience levels. It provides a clear path for learning and development, helping to build a data-driven workforce for the future.
