About Data Skills for Work

Our programme aims to develop data literacy, or the ability to derive meaningful information from data. Because data is so crucial for organisational success, data literacy, and associated skills such as critical thinking, adaptability, and self-management, are increasingly in demand for all employees.

About The Data Lab

The Data Lab is Scotland’s Innovation Centre for Data and AI. At The Data Lab, we believe in a thriving, connected society powered by data and AI. We work with students, professionals, universities and colleges, business and our wider community to build a stronger and more collaborative economy and future for Scotland and the world.

About the Data Skills Gateway

The Data Skills Gateway aims to provide all of our citizens, from school pupils to adult learners, with the opportunity to learn and master the necessary skills to drive and sustain data driven innovation in the region, regardless of background, gender or location. Today’s workforce needs at least a basic level of data and digital skills for many jobs, and to make the best use of products and services. In other words, we all need to be more data savvy.
