Data Skills Credits Funding for Individuals Now Open!
Apply now for up to £500 towards data-related training! Applications close on Monday 6th December 2021 at 5pm.
We’re excited to announce that a new round of Data Skills Credits Funding is officially open! The scheme was first launched in November 2020, providing funding to individuals living in Edinburgh and South East Scotland who were looking to develop their data skills.
Our past recipients recommend this programme saying that “having basic data skills is useful for anyone” and have become more confident and want to continue learning more on data and databases. With The Scottish Futures Institute estimating that 175,000 new digital jobs will have been generated in Scotland by 2030, the need to equip workers with good data skills is great and creates numerous career opportunities that could start right here.
Our Skills Portal is full of useful courses you can apply for with funding of £500 per learners such as Managing and Analysing Data with Excel and Power BI, Python for Data Analysis, Introduction to Data Science on the Cloud, Programming with R, Fundamentals of Data Analytics, Data Analysis and Excel, Google Analytics: Essentials and many more. You can also let us know whether you’re interested in something that’s not listed, as long as it’s a data related course.
If you’re working in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife, or the Scottish Borders, are under or unemployed, or in a role that is being changed by automation you can apply for these grants to help pay for courses that will upskill your data skillset. Our ambition is to enhance the local labour market with a range of data skills – including widening opportunities for workers in jobs that are being changed by automation, women returners, people with disabilities, and BAME communities.
