The course content is designed to support charities to create strategies and frameworks to comply with Data Protection Legislation and remove the complexities to allow organisations to achieve implementation of data protection principles throughout the business.

The training will focus on the data protection requirements regulated by the ICO and OSCR.

  • Gain an understanding of Data Protection in 3rd sector and associated Community Interest Companies.

  • Understand the SAR process and gain insight into how a business should document and manage data.

  • Gain an understanding of the Freedom of Information process, what data is required by law to be released, and what exemptions apply.

  • What is an Information Asset Register and why is this a requirement of the Data Protection regulation?

  • Data retention and how to manage this in an organisation.
